Military/Veterans Liaison to Hold Office Hours

Jon House is the military and veterans liaison from Congresswoman Clark's office. He will be holding office hours in Holliston, MA once a month. His first office hours will be June 11th starting at 1pm.

Memorial Day Events 2019

The following events are being held:

  1. Ashland
    • Memorial Day Parade
      • Monday May 27th
      • 10:30am
      • Parade participants form at the cemetery for services and proceed to Gordon Green Square for additional services.Lunch will follow for all participants.

  2. Holliston
    • Dressing of Graves
      • Thursday May 23rd
      • 5:00pm
      • Veterans and scouting organizations meet to care for markers in town cemeteries. Flag disposal ceremonies are also held. Meet in the VFW parking lot.
    • Irreverent Warriors Silkies Hike
    • Cemetery Visitations
      • Monday May 27th
      • 9am
      • Flag bearers, firing squad, and clergy visit each town cemetery for memorial ceremonies. Meet in the VFW parking lot.
    • Memorial Day Parade
      • Monday May 27th
      • 11am
      • The parade participants will meet and form in the Adams School parking lot opposite the VFW. The parade will proceed to Chesmore Square, Blair Square, Town Hall, and the Police Station for services. Refreshments will be served afterwards at the Historical Society.

  3. Hopkinton
    • Dressing of Graves
      • Thursday May 23rd
      • 4:00pm
      • The American Legion (Post 202) and local scouts meet to place flags on veterans graves for the three large cemeteries in town. The ceremonies will be begin at Evergreen Cemetery, continue to Mt. Auburn, and finish at St. Johns. Any interested citizens are welcome to participate.
    • Memorial Day Parade
      • Monday May 27th
      • 9:45am
      • Parade participants form at Evergreen Cemetery on Wood Street for services and proceed to the Town Common for the remainder of the program. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony at Town Hall.

  4. Medway
    • Memorial Day Parade
      • Monday May 27th
      • 9:30am
      • Parade participants will form at the VFW Hall and proceed to Matondi Square for ceremonies.

Veterans' Professional Development Day

The Veterans Upward Bound program is having a FREE Veterans Professional Development for Job Searchers workshop. Veterans Upward Bound is a federally funded program housed at Suffolk University. VUB is designed to motivate and prepare Veterans in the development of academic and other skills needed to obtain a degree, certification, and/or license in their career field of choice. This workshop will cover the specific areas any job searcher needs to consider whether or not they are actively looking for a job.

The event is being held on Saturday May 11th at Suffolk University, 73 Tremont Street 7th floor, Boston. Lunch will be provided.

Military Retiree Appreciation Day

Hanscom Air Force Base will be hosting a military retiree appreciation day on Friday, May 10th. There will be multiple exhibitors including: VA, Tricare, SSA, Brighton Marine, and many more. 11th Annual Women Veterans Network Conference

Brigadier General Donald Bolduc '86 To Speak at Dean College

Brigadier General Donald Bolduc '86, retired, US Army, will be speaking at Dean College on March 20th. The event begins at 6:30pm and includes a dinner with students and sponsors and culminating in an evening lecture to the general public, business and community leaders. The address is 109 W. 2018 Veterans' Day Events

Holliston:  On Saturday Nov 10th  the Holliston American Legion, Lion’s Club and VFW Post 8507 will host the Veterans’ Day parade starting at Blair Square at 10:30 AM with a rifle salute and TAPS, then a short march at 10:45 AM to Memorial Square (Washington and Hollis Streets) for another salute and onwards to town hall for a short public ceremony at 11:00AM  Photos will be taken at 11:15 AM. Those unable to make the short march from Blair Square should meet at town hall at 10:45AM.

Medway:  On Sunday November 11th, 2018  Medway would like to honor their brave veterans with a complimentary brunch on  at the Medway VFW, 123 Holliston St. Brunch will be served at 10:30 a.m..  If interested in attending, please reach out to the Senior Center at 508-533-3210. All veterans and a guest are welcome to enjoy this complimentary meal. Thank you for your service. – Medway Council on Aging.

Ashland:  On Sunday November 11th, 2018,  There will be an 11 a.m. ceremony at the American Legion James O. Carey Post 77 at 40 Summer St, Ashland, MA . 

Hopkinton:  In the evening of Nov 11, 2018:  All Hopkinton Veterans are welcome to attend the Annual Veterans Dinner on Veterans Day, at the Woodville Rod & Gun Club, 252 Wood Street, Hopkinton. Doors open at 5:00 dinner served at 6:00.  No reservation needed.  Compliments of the Hopkinton Veterans Celebration Committee of the Town of Hopkinton, MA.
